Cordial and transparent relationship with the other Leaders and With the General Council. Proposals of appointments for members. Knowledge and implementation of the common initiatives proposed to all Units.
Relationship with the Bishops, the Conference of Religious, with other missionary bodies in the Country.
Relationship and physical visitation of all the members in the Unit.
Keeping contacts and visitation of the families of the members from the Unit.
Keeping contacts and support of seminarians from the Unit.
Build a family spirit among all the members, implicate as many members as possible in the different common tasks (ex. organising the Unit Assembly, meetings for the those under 5 years of ordination, initiatives of the programme “en route 2026”)
Promoting and nurturing the African Missions Carismatic family, (SMA members, SMA associate or other lay groups, OLA Sisters, MCSC (Menton) Sisters.
Care for the Unit and its members
Ensure a welcoming and functioning SMA House in the Unit, where each member can feel at home and for which each member is motivated to contribute.
Organize a good SMA vocation ministry including a preparatory programme
Organize and motivate a fund-raising system for the Unit within the Unit et in some extent outside the Unit. Funds are to be used for the development of the whole unit, including primary evangelisation projects.
Ensure a solid, transparent and financial administration, known and supported by all members (from the country and in the country).
Ensure providing the established financial contribution for the Philosophy students of the Country
Plan the necessary procedures (and structures when needed) for care of the sick members and for old age members.
Organize the Archives and the administrative office of the Unit, safeguarding the great patrimony of SMA History of some places.
Conception and coordination of mission in the territory:
Sustain and develop the already existing projects of primary evangelisation
Special care in providing on time the necessary documentation for Projects to be helped by the “Mission Fund”. Providing financial/pastoral reports of the same.
Prepare the handing over to other pastoral agents of places that are ready
Discern places or situations where we can offer our very specific missionary contribution either in a traditional “parish” scheme or in a different “specialised” scheme (ex. formation of leaders, social action in new milieus, Work for peace or JPIC…)
